SAT/ACT mins:  The University does not have a minimum score requirement.  Admissions are primarily based on HS GPA and then SAT or ACT scores.  The average SAT is score 1560.  The average ACT composite is 22.

Any active-duty Marine who is 23 years of age or older or any veteran or retired Marine, regardless of age,with a discharge character other than dishonorable may submit two letters of recommendation in lieu of SAT/ACT scores.

LSP Application deadline: LSP applications are due one month prior to the start of the semester.

Freshmen class report date: Varies.  Typically first week of September for Fall start and January 20 for Spring start.

Yellow Ribbon participant: Yes.  Montclair State provides a limited number of slots however.

Will you cover difference between tuition minus GI Bill and cost of in state "state" school tuition? Or do you want to keep it to in-state residents? Only students who qualify for Yellow Ribbon will have the in-state/out-of-state difference covered.

Do you want to donate additional money to each applicant should the need arise?   Montclair State does not offer separate funds for service members.  Montclair State does provide Financial Aid through the FAFSA.

Processing fees: $65.

Are all majors open to Marines? Yes.

Recognize AA degree or any college course work: Yes.  Montclair State will accept transfer credit from any Regionally Accredited College or University.

Recognize awarding of college credits via alternative means, e.g., DANTES or CLEP: Yes.  We accept DANTES, CLEP and SMART credits

Students who do not meet the University’s general admissions criteria may be asked to submit two letters of recommendation and a personal statement in order to be considered for admission.
